Stanford R. Solomon

Mr. Solomon earned his Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1977 and his Juris Doctor with Honors from University of Florida College of Law in 1980. Mr. Solomon is admitted to practice in the Courts of Florida, as well as the United States Supreme Court, United States Circuit Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and all United States District Courts in Florida. Mr. Solomon is a Certified Circuit Court Mediator and a graduate of the Harvard Negotiation Project at the Harvard Law School.

Mr. Solomon has handled and tried cases in virtually every area of commercial practice. Mr. Solomon's experiences include advocacy and aggressive representation of clients in real estate lending disputes, mortgage foreclosures, loan work-outs, construction contract matters, construction defect claims, employee contract violations, unfair trade practice claims, enforcement of restrictive covenants, business torts, partnership dissolutions, legal malpractice claims, creditor claims in bankruptcy, franchise claims, trade regulation matters, securities fraud matters, tax claims, racketeering claims, receiverships, landlord/tenant cases, land use disputes, zoning contests, regulatory compliance and private disputes involving resort projects, ad valorem tax challenges, and eminent domain takings. In addition to matters arising primarily in a commercial setting, Mr. Solomon has regularly been called upon to represent clients in family law and probate matters that require understanding and advocacy of intimate business transactions or complex financial arrangements.

Mr. Solomon's practice takes him throughout Florida and to many states around the country. Mr. Solomon has tried cases and represented clients in the three Florida federal courts, the Florida Supreme Court, Florida's five appellate courts and throughout most of Florida's 20 circuit courts. In addition, Mr. Solomon has appeared before state and federal courts in: Atlanta, Georgia; Columbia, South Carolina; Houston, Texas; Needham, Massachusetts; New York City, New York; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Chicago, Illinois; and Seattle, Washington.

A member of many professional associations, Mr. Solomon is the incoming chair of The Florida Bar Judicial Administration Rules Committee and a former Chair of The Florida Bar Civil Procedure Rules Committee. Mr. Solomon is a Barrister in The Ferguson-White American Inn of Court. Mr. Solomon is also recognized by Martindale-Hubbell as an AV-rated attorney emblematic of an attorney who has reached the pinnacle of professional excellence and who has exhibited the highest levels of skill and integrity.

Mr. Solomon is a frequent lecturer on issues affecting financial institutions and private investors. Mr. Solomon's lecture topics have included: "The Foreclosure Process"; "The Purpose and Benefit of Forbearance Agreements"; "The Failing Durrett Doctrine"; and "Avoiding the Bankruptcy Stay".

In addition to his professional practice, Mr. Solomon is active in numerous community activities. Mr. Solomon currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the Hillel School of Tampa and as President of the Board of Trustees of the Community High School of North Tampa, Inc., a pilot project to create for the Tampa Bay community a new independent secondary school. Mr. Solomon was a 1989 participant in the Leadership Tampa Program sponsored by the Tampa Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Solomon has also held positions as an Executive Member of the nationally-acclaimed United Jewish Appeal Young Leadership Cabinet, Vice President of Congregation Kol Ami, Chairman of the Tampa Jewish Federation's Attorneys Division, Chairman of the Russian Resettlement Task Force, Chairman of the Tampa Jewish Community's Capital Acquisitions Committee, Executive Committee Member of the Gulf Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and Cabinet Captain for the annual United Way Campaign. Mr. Solomon's eleemosynary efforts were acknowledged when he was named the Hope Cohen Barnett Young Leadership Award winner, an annual award given to the young leader making the greatest contribution to the Tampa Jewish community.
